Our Award Winning Continental Chef Nicandro Poccia, CEC Executive Chef
Nicandro has exceeded in his field and established himself as one of our areas finest treasures in the culinary arts. Having started his education as a boy in his mother's regional Italian kitchen, he went on to apprenticeship with Chef Jerry Piccardi of the Inn of the Raven in Spring House, PA. There he learned from a Master Chef the joy of bringing the best to his clients.
He has continued on in that way of learning and employs many apprentices from the Bucks County Community College. He is a vital member of our community continuing to travel to various areas to teach gourmet culinary classes to the community. Education and support of the community is only a part of what he does.
Today he tends his own gardens planted here on the Spring Mill Country Club grounds where he grows fresh herbs and vegetables for his tables. It's one to find only the freshest ingredients to serve in a great ambiance, but finding a great Chef is another.
Winning is a result of learning how to be the best and Chef Nicandro has learned how to win at learning. As recipient of the 1990 Chef of the Year Award, the 1996 Culinarian Award, two-time Gold Medalist in the culinary competition of the American Culinary Federation; Nicandro is also an active member and Officer of the Delaware Valley Chef Association a hallmark of quality in our Nation's Chef's Association.
